About

ABOUT

James Tyler is a traditionally trained, custom design jeweller creating from the Gallery level of the eternally beautiful, Brisbane Arcade, Queen Street Mall, Brisbane.
Having completed his professional indenture in the 1980’s James has gone on to forge a strongly respected space within the jewellery trade. Close professional relationships have developed over many years with local and international suppliers to enable trusted sourcing of unusual and difficult to access gems and other components.
The workshop uses a wide variety of materials including platinum, 22ct, 18ct and 9ct gold, palladium, titanium, neoprene, silver and custom combination materials such as Mokume Gane.
James has developed the highly specific skill of gem setting that enables the workshop to guarantee full in-house creation.
With the advent of space-age technology, the workshop has acquired a much desired Orion pulse welder and Sisma LM-D180 Vision laser welder. These pieces of equipment along with traditional manufacturing skills broaden the capability of the workshop to more effectively manage the ever-changing demands of jewellery manufacture and repair.
With a deep passion for his craft, James proudly shares his knowledge and skill, endeavouring to strengthen the next generation to keep the craft of true high-quality handmade jewellery alive. Like a father carefully packing his children off to school, no item of jewellery leaves the workshop without the inspection and approval of James.
We look forward to engaging with you on your journey of creating a memorable piece of heirloom quality jewellery.
